Lodge Omen

The warmth against my cheek,
The wet fluid on my lip.
The opportunity , I seek,
Along the way we stall, you trip.
By no fault of mine, it ends,
I silence the symptom with tight embrace.
But the damage is done, it never mends,
It was an ominous sign I feared to face.
